Carolyn M. Appleton's Nonprofit "App"

Thanks to TheAppBuilder (discovered via IBM), I have created a simple, new “work” app. Click on the link to access it online.

I’ve been receiving comments via my WordPress blog (>14,000 site visits by >80 countries), requesting greater ease of mobile access, and this app helps address that need.

One can download the app icon onto a mobile device by e-mailing yourself the link; opening the e-mail on an iPhone (for example); then following the instructions that should appear automatically.

“This app provides convenient links to my websites and information about a few special projects. Very best wishes for your fundraising success!”

Engaging Major Donors with New Media

NTEN’s “Change” e-journal contains tremendously helpful information for nonprofits seeking guidance in using new technologies to best advantage.  I encourage you to read the December, 2011 issue, and to watch for future issues.

Go to the NTEN website, where you can sign-up to read the e-journal online for free (nten.org/ntenchange).  The current issue includes an article by me, “Engaging Major Donors with New Media,” on page 26.

I deeply appreciate NTEN’s encouragement to participate in the e-journal project, and for the ongoing support and friendship of its wonderful staff.

And, if you are not a member of NTEN, join today.  It’s an investment that will pay you dividends for many years to come.  Thank you.

For a quick view, one can also read the December, 2011 issue in PDF format on my SlideShare page, by clicking on the image above (however, the interactive links, video, and podcast features are not available there).

Thomas E. Alexander, noted Texas author, historian and colleague of the late entrepreneur Stanley Marcus, is in the midst of filming a documentary about Stanley’s life.
I’ve helped Tom develop a funding plan, helped secure his first grant, and introduced him to The Dallas Foundation (http://bit.ly/sspFUD), which is now the project’s nonprofit partner (to receive charitable donations, via Filmanthropy Fund).
M3 Films, LLC (http://www.m3filmsllc.com/), is conducting the filming. Additional financial support is welcome; meetings with prospective donors are underway, and thus far the reception has been quite positive. Click on the cover of Tom’s book above for an updated project overview and contact information.
