One of my favorite San Antonio events is the offbeat King William Parade in the lovely King William National Historic District (the oldest historic district in Texas). Above is a photograph taken during last year’s event. Some 50,000 are expected this year!
After the parade, one can stroll through the neighborhood fair, which includes arts and crafts by many talented artists, and purveyors of delicious specialty foods and products, many “home grown” in Texas.

King William Fair ~ San Antonio, 2012
I “tweeted” the fair and parade on April 28; see CAROLYNAPPLETON on Twitter for more photographs and commentary.
Thanks to top sponsors: Bud Light, Shiner Beers, H-E-B, UPS, Valero, Christus Santa Rosa, Rosarios and Pioneer Brand.
The fair has a website, too: kwfair.org. “Our mission is to support the arts, education, and community improvements with family fun in the state’s first residential historic district.”
What an enjoyable creative event, and very well organized.
